SELF-DRIVE ROUND-THE-ISLAND TOUR FOR INDIVIDUALS
Discover the beauty of Sardinia independently driving throughout the island as you please but without the problem of having to search for a hotel. We reserve the CAR and the HOTELS for you or do-it-yourself by clicking on the booking links above.
The following is an example of a typical itinery which is normally taken by hundreds of our guests.
Day 1: Alghero. Arrival at Alghero airport and collect car hire. Visit of the surrounding panoramic area: Porto Conte, Capo Caccia, Foraddada Island, Nuraghe Palmavera, the old town with its Catalan walls, towers, bastions, churches and lanes. Overnight in hotel on Bed & breakfast.
Day 2: Alghero-Bosa-Oristano. Departure from Alghero along the panoramic road to Bosa and visit: Temo River, old town, the Marina and the Serravalle Castle. Continuation passing through Cuglieri reaching Oristano: interesting the archeological area of Tharros and the Cabras swamps. Overnight in hotel on Bed & breakfast.
Day 3: Oristano-Cagliari. Departure along the southern coastline crossing the villages such as Iglesias, Calasetta, S. Margherita di Pula and arriving in Cagliari. To visit: The historical centre with the Castle and archeological museum, shopping amongst the lanes of the old town. Overnight in hotel on Bed & breakfast.
Day 4: Cagliari-Aritzo . Departure from Cagliari heading towards the inland centre of Sardinia with a first stop at Barumini to visit the largest nuragical complex on the island. Continuation across the woods and mountain region arriving to Aritzo. Overnight in hotel on Bed & breakfast.
Day 5 : Aritzo. To visit: the surrounding mountain area with its woods, streams, trout fishing, the typical towns of Orgosolo, Oliena, Cala Gonone, the Bue Marino caves. Overnight in hotel on Bed & Breakfast.
Day 6: Aritzo- Costa Smeralda. Departure from Aritzo for Nuoro: visit of the Costume Museum and the Solitudine church. Continue along the east coast passing by Siniscola, San Teodoro, Porto San Paolo, Olbia and arriving at the Costa Smeralda visiting Porto Rotondo, San Pantaleo, Cala di Volpe, Porto Cervo and Baia Sardinia. Overnight in hotel on Bed & Breakfast.
Day 7: Costa Smeralda-Alghero. Departure from the Costa Smeralda for La Maddalena island, Santa Teresa di Gallura and Capo Testa to admire the Corsica coastline. Continue for Costa Paradiso, Castelsardo with a look at the "Elephant Rock", the Doria Castle and the handicraft centres. Arrival in evening in Alghero. Overnight in hotel on Bed & Breakfast.
Day 8: Alghero: Transfer to Alghero airport and departure.
Note: The same tour may be arranged starting from Olbia or Cagliari.
